A Roof for Chile (Un Techo Para Chile)
Every day thousands of university students work together with residents of Chile’s most impoverished settlements to improve their quality of life through the construction of low-cost, modular housing. The goal is a country without extreme poverty where no family is in need of minimal housing. By building emergency housing and organizing social training plans, it is possible to improve the living standards of thousands of families who live in the extreme poverty of the Human Settlements.
Help Build a Roof for Chile with A&K
Together with “A Roof For Chile” A&K Philanthropy has taken up the challenge of the precarious situation in Chile following the strong earthquake that affected the country on 27 February 2010. A&K Philanthropy has donated funds to build emergency housing and in May a group of twelve volunteers from the A&K office in Santiago travelled to Quilicura district, located outside Santiago, to help with the construction of roofs for homes that had suffered extensive damage during the earthquake.
